Black and cream Fair Isle Sweater

Black and cream Fair Isle Sweater

I knitted this sweater around 1991, I had definitely started it around the time of my university finals. The idea was from a fashion magazine called "Looks" that was around in the late 80's, they used this pattern on a cardigan. I changed it to a sweater, added the 2-colour rib and knitted it mostly in the round. I didn't use steeks though, but knitted back and forward after the armholes.

The yarn is Jonelle Superwash Double Knitting and was from Robert Sayle in Cambridge, I believe. It's long, straight and not too flattering, but looks good with a toning scarf and is VERY warm. Love it.
