Don't look now - I've finished something
Thanks for all the lovely comments and good wishes! What a roller coaster ride it's been this month!
Now being a bit disorganised has yielded a lovely surprise. Having the boys on my hands, slogging away at a baby blanket and turning the house upside down meant that I forgot what all my pre-baby knitting WIPs were. Then I discovered my nearly finished Odile under a table in the bedroom! I mean, very nearly finished, only the sleeves to sew in and fringes to do! Glass of wine and a Lord of the Rings CD later, I finished her off last night. (Husband wanted to go down the pub, well I wasn't stopping him!) So... drum roll... I can now reveal how it looks without the multiple layers of clothes and string tied around the waist, although I try to emulate the haystack-hairstyle these days!
I've left off the pockets (ran out of steam) and the hem fringe, although I did knit it. I'm not inclined to add something that sticks out horizontally around my hipline! I also knitted a little hem on the bottom to avoid dreaded curling up of un-edged stocking stitch. I did trim the cuff fringes a little shorter, otherwise it felt like having a chimney brush on each wrist. I really like this - do you think the weather will stay cold long enough to wear it out?
Here's a little more detail:
I feel so pleased - a complete bonus to have found it as I had completely forgotten about its existence. It even looks good with jeans which is the only thing I wear these days, although baby sick might be a little problem. Now I have a vague memory of some socks as well. Wonder if you can knit while wearing one of those Baby Bjorn carriers?
The Doctor Who scarf/Baby blanket is now 5 strips finished out of seven - i.e. a difficult percentage, but I am not going to be beaten - I will finish it by the time No.2 is sitting up in the buggy so I can drape it across his knees and impress passers-by even more than I do at the moment with my Phil and Ted's.
