When you fall off the horse, you need to get straight back on, right? Thanks for all the sympathetic comments! Amelia, I almost cried with frustration when you frogged that Ice sweater, I remember it well.
I've done few more inches on the back of the Patti cardigan, I've just done the last of the side seam increases. It's absolutely wonderful therapy:
However, this much (about half the back) has taken a whole skein of Peace Fleece. Could I possibly have got the quantities wrong? I worked it out so carefully. Does anyone know, for sure, what the metrage of 4oz of Peace Fleece vs. 100g of Debbie Bliss Maya is? Neither of them has it marked on the ball band! I bought less of the PF because it seemed to go a lot further but now I am losing confidence in my calculations. Surely I can't be heading for another dyelot disaster so soon?
Judith left a comment in response to my posting on the Rowan forum about Kaffe Fassett's Jack's Back jacket. I must have given the impression I had knitted this (if only!) but I meant to say, I had done a swatch in a KF workshop where he was getting us to experiment with different colours and designs. Here's the front:
And here's the back showing how the long floats are caught in, and the ends knitted in at the edge:
And this, I believe, is the jacket (from Glorious Knitting) that Judith will be knitting up from her kit:
Good luck, Judith, let us know how it goes. I don't profess to be a Kaffe Fassett expert but I really do love to see these designs knitted up and take my hat off to the skilled knitters who've done rather more of them (you know who you are!).
I've thought for a while of hosting a Kaffe Fassett knitalong, as I'm sure many of us have a kit or started project lurking somewhere - let me know if you're interested.
P.S. blog posting much quicker with broadband, but I seem to have lost control of my pictures and some of them are stretching to funny sizes and losing resolution - sorry! The first thing I did when the BB was up and running yesterday, was to download the Knitcasts I have been dying to listen to for months - they are brilliant! I've done Wendy and Get Knitted so far and looking forward to catching up on the backlog.
