This is the second part of the Edgy Exchange, well, the main part really. Think of it like the Ready, Steady, Cook of knitting. Due to efforts to match a colour for Baclava, I had Wool Cotton, Kidsilk Haze and Cashmerino Aran all in a similar misty mauve colour. So I'm doing gloves in the DK, and a scarf in the Aran, and trimming them both with Elfin-frills in Kidsilk Haze. I think this is a very economical use of the stash! I thought it would just be the right sort of thing to wear with a denim jacket. The glove pattern is a good Patons one from the US with a proper thumb gusset. So now you know! If this ends up being your exchange gift, I hope you like it.
The frills are just delicious! Really full and lush. I think an Elfin might be creeping onto the bottom of the dream-list. I do love Rowan 34.
Strange to think someone out there is knitting something for me. Hope it's lacy - I'm just awed at all the shawls going on at the moment. (But of course, I would be thrilled to receive anything at all).
We're off on holiday next week, which is the school half-term in the UK, going to the Isle of Skye in Scotland. There is going to be a lot of lazing about and admiring the views and I am not even going to think about trailing around any yarn shops - I'm all stashed out. Being a knitter, the ten hour drive each way won't be any problem - as long as I'm the passenger. Has anyone figured out a good way to light your knitting when it's dark? I tend to go for a very small torch around the neck on a cord.
See you in a week or so, unless I get to the internet cafe! Happy Bank Holiday!
