Can y'tell what it is yet?

Glove1

This is the second part of the Edgy Exchange, well, the main part really.  Think of it like the Ready, Steady, Cook of knitting.  Due to efforts to match a colour for Baclava, I had Wool Cotton, Kidsilk Haze and Cashmerino Aran all in a similar misty mauve colour.  So I'm doing gloves in the DK, and a scarf in the Aran, and trimming them both with Elfin-frills in Kidsilk Haze.  I think this is a very economical use of the stash!  I thought it would just be the right sort of thing to wear with a denim jacket.  The glove pattern is a good Patons one from the US with a proper thumb gusset.  So now you know!  If this ends up being your exchange gift, I hope you like it.

The frills are just delicious!  Really full and lush. I think an Elfin might be creeping onto the bottom of the dream-list. I do love Rowan 34.

Strange to think someone out there is knitting something for me.  Hope it's lacy - I'm just awed at all the shawls going on at the moment. (But of course, I would be thrilled to receive anything at all).

We're off on  holiday next week, which is the school half-term in the UK, going to the Isle of Skye in Scotland.  There is going to be a lot of lazing about and admiring the views and I am not even going to think about trailing around any yarn shops - I'm all stashed out.  Being a knitter, the ten hour drive each way won't be any problem - as long as I'm the passenger.  Has anyone figured out a good way to light your knitting when it's dark?  I tend to go for a very small torch around the neck on a cord.

See you in a week or so, unless I get to the internet cafe!  Happy Bank Holiday!

hello sam, just to let you know before i forget, the bridge is finally open, so you can get to me much easier now! hope you"ve had a fab break, we are off to castle howard and whitby tomorrow, just over night, see you soon, dx

Love those gloves!

I just want to bury my face and hands in all those frills... It's beautiful and whoever gets your gift will be a lucky girl indeed. Those purple colours are gorgeous to say the least. Can I bribe you to knit some gloves for me next? :) A.xx

Enjoy your trip! I hope the weather stays nice and warm on Skye. Are you going to knit the gloves as your on the go project? Remember if you know what to knit when you buy yarn it is not stash! It is yarn for a project.

The KSH frills look beautiful. I think the project will look great, all those different weights of yarn in the same colourway. Have a good holiday.

I've got one of those book torches that clips onto my jumper, collar, (nose!) anything that sticks out to help me knit in the dark. The end rolls around too, so even if I can't attach myself squarely I can move it about to direct the light (gosh I've just read that back and it sounds like double dutch)
Love your Edgy gift, we'll have to do an Elfin revisited as I've often thought about knitting it too. Have a wonderful holiday, I love Skye.

You've remind me to start the Edgy exchange project ! Your project idea is great and the colour is gorgoerus too. I wish I am the recipent of them.
