Thanks!

Thanks for all the lovely comments!  You don't finish too many of these in a lifetime.  I'm cracking on with the Martha cardigan now but no pictures as the camera has gone on a business trip for the week.

Instead I'll resort to some blog padding - what I came back with from the holiday.  At this point I must say it is not as impressive as Mary's trip to DC!  I must also thank my friend Astrid for being a knitting partner in crime and I hope the Summer Tweed is knitting up really well.

I've finally bought yarn for my zip up cardigan, and since I didn't go all the way to Scotland to buy something I could have got in John Lewis, and after a helpful discussion with Margi at Moondance on wearability, I went for the Peace Fleece in this delicious wine red "Moldova Burgundy"

And it's to knit the cardigan I first thought of from Debbie Bliss book 7 as shown here.  Got there in the end.

I have not given up on the Chicknits pattern but it may be a future project when I can find the right yarn.  I got in 3 balls of the Noro Kureyon 115, but it had a bit too much green and brown for what I wanted-

It will make a lovely felted bag though, Booga bag probably.

Mike asked me (after the second visit to Moondance) did I bring him back a fluffy surprise?  Thought at first he was requisititioning another handknit, but turned out he meant the Border Collie puppies on the farm.  They were adorable!

Oh, er, and this   just wouldn't let me leave Wooler without it.  Sorry Astrid, but at least I haggled the chap in the antique shop down a bit for it!  I'll make it earn its keep anyway.

hello sam how are you, have you seen this issue of knitting [not to brag about my letter!] but i see belindas knitting workshops advertised in there? ive written again to her, so see if i get a reply. also im having a jewellery party at mine on fri 13th may 7pm onwards, not expensive, no obligation to buy, if you wanted to come, bring a friend or not. its jewellery that ive made and everybody at work loves it so thought id throw a party. take care, dx

Ooohh, I just saw your stunning Kaffe fasset cardigan. It goes so well with your hair colour and complexion. Work of art.

I went to MoonDance last year - and there were puppies there then too! Isn't it a great place - we were holidaying in Edinburgh and for anyone driving south down the A1 it is only a small diversion......

Peace Fleece is the one thing I wanted to get in the States that I didn't. Love that shade you've got. Lucky you, I didn't realise it was stocked in the UK.

I've got a pile of Peace Fleece in Volgasippi Blue supposed to be for an Everyday Cardigan. I think I prefer the look of the Debbie Bliss one now...hmm decisions decisions.
